The Phanto Zone Jim Corbett was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodar Modi and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Dhami on January 2, 2022. The Terai West Forest, which is located in the northern part of Jim Corbett National Park, and the Amangarh Tiger Reserve to the west. Because of the increasing number of tourists, the photo zone has been established in Jim Corbett Park as the seventh zone by expanding it from the already established 6 zone
A forest of 2516.70 hectares has been included in the photo zone, in which various types of wildlife present like Royal Bengal Tiger, Deer, Elephant Corridor, various types of birds get a chance to see closely through jeep safari. Large human-made water reservoirs in the photo jeep safari zone make the life of wildlife very easy. It is often seen that the Royal Bengal Tigers are seen near these reservoirs. The presence of different species of animals and birds in the photo jungle safari adds to the beauty of the forest of the photo zone. Phanto Zone is the densest of Jim Corbett National Park and Uttarakhand’s densest forest, due to which jeep safari in Phanto Zone provides a feeling of pleasure. The distance from Corbett City Ramnagar to the gate of the photo zone is just 18 km while crossing this distance, tourists will get the opportunity to see the giant Tumdiya Dam as well as boating in the future.
