Staying facilities are also available at Bijrani, Gairal, Jhirna and Kanda forest rest houses. The government has increased accommodation in recent years by introducing additional annexes and dormitories. These all forest rest houses have solar electric fencing that keeps the tourists safe. The magnificent picturesque landscape of the Bijrani Zone can easily be explored from here. By using the facility of jeep safari, you can take a ride deep into the jungle observing animals and hoping to have a sight of a roaming tiger. If you want you can roam whole day in a jeep safari catching the glimpse of wildlife in large and capturing them with your camera. Along with the jeep ride, the elephant ride is also available to roam into the jungle but not too deep inside the forest.
Dhikala in Corbett is one of the most famous of the popular tourist zones. It is situated on the edge of the Patli Doon valley. The Ramganga flows in several channels through Dhikala. Offers a spectacular unobstructed panoramic view of the Dhikala Valley with the Kanda Ridge in the background. The entire view is even more impressive from the watchtower near Dhikala. The Tourist Complex overlooks Dhikala Chaur (one of the largest remaining grasslands in the park) and Phulai Chaur. Tigers can be seen on the drive through the many trails through the chauras. The Old Rest House of Dhikala is a historical structure, built over a hundred years ago. Dhikala is the best and largest safari zone in Jim Corbett National Park, and the entrance to this safari zone is called Dhangari Gate. Dhikala offers tourists a lush green space where the entire wildlife comes out in its true wild form. Dhikala is the tourist area located in Jim Corbett National Park where you will simply hear the sweet chirping of birds, smell the rich and natural aroma of flora and talk about the divine atmosphere. A canter drive through the abundant footpaths in Chaur satisfies the sight of wild elephants, chital, hog deer, and many stately grassland bird species and of course raptors. Dhikala, like other areas of the sanctuary, gives a splendid glimpse of flora and fauna. Dhikala Canter Safari: Canter safaris (bus safaris) are also a popular way to visit Corbett National Park. Canter Safari can be done only in Dhikala Zone, Canter Safari in Corbett Park can be experienced from 15th November to 15th June and it is operated twice a day during this specific period. Since seats for canter safaris are limited, it is advised to book them well in advance.
